Maria Svarbova Asia Premiere, debut in Asia, held at Taipei Expo Park Pavilion of New Fashion. It showcased the renowned photographer Maria Svarbova’s collections of works, including Swimming Pool, Human Space, Plastic World, and Daily—a series featuring Hebe Tien. Each section was designed into an entirely different visual experience. It was said the exhibition was the most complete in recent years.
IF Plus planned two projection works, including the documentary film on the 1st floor of the exhibition. The film was projected onto a thin screen, which reflecting the ambiance as if the audience were watching gymnastics at Spartakiáda in old Socialism East Europe. Another work was the surround projection work. It used synchronizing recording and projection. After counting down, audience could take a photo of their instant movement and then spinning spreading out with Maria’s work. It was like a retro yet extravagant kaleidoscope, and the fantastical feeling of time freezing recreated the lighting aesthetics in Maria Svarbova’s works.
