The Chuhan Struggle, a significant war in Chinese history, intertwines the second generation hero’s war with a tragic love story to add the passion of love to a historical event. Historical events are continuously passed on from generation to generation, using different ways to tell the stories. The closing ceremony of the 2015 Tainan Arts Festival featured the “House of Flying Daggers” bringing together musical instruments from East Asia, fire-dancing, stage effects to create the first “360 Degree Stage” leaving the audience with a challenging and unforgettable experience. The production team wanted to use the setting of the original music, staging the show at Tainan’s Eternal Golden Castle and using towering ramparts, employing fiery beacons and torches to create the atmosphere of war. To all this, an interactive projection was added to allow the audience to join the siege.
